Gippsland Art Gallery runs an Artist in Schools program that enables a selected member school to work with an artist over a short residency. During the residency a small group of students will learn how an artist works and are enabled to design and create their own works lead by the artist.

This exhibition is the result of artist Steph Shields 2023 residency at Wurruk Primary school, in which students created collaborative and individual ceramic works guided by the theme of whimsical sculpture.
